CHARLESTON — Jessica Alsop, an associate in the Jackson Kelly Business Law Department, has been appointed a Member of the Young Lawyers Division of the West Virginia Executive Committee.
The West Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) was formed to help young lawyers enter the arena of litigation. The YLD sponsors social mixers and coordinates public service volunteer activities.
Alsop received her B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics in 1998, magna cum laude. She received her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2002 where she served as the Executive Editor of Student Works for the West Virginia Law Review and was selected to the Order of the Coif.
Alsop earned her L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University in 2004. She has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
