Stacey Brumfield v. Prestera Center for Mental Health Services, Inc.
PA-Richard Weston; J-John L. Cummings
* Brumfield was hired as a counselor by Prestera in September 2007. According to the suit, a co-worker began telling others that Brumfield, a homosexual, was having sexual relations with clients. Brumfield claims that because of her sexuality, she was treated differently than other employees and was ultimately fired in January 2008 amidst speculation that she was having inappropriate relations with patients. She denies any such relations and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Sept. 5
Cristle Dawn Wilson v. St. Mary's Hospital
PA-Cristle Wilson; J-John L. Cummings
* Wilson worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary's from 1995 until 2007. She claims she was accused of misusing narcotic pain medication and was forced to resign. St. Mary's conducted an investigation into the matter and allegedly found no wrong on Wilson's part. She is seeking restitution of her position and compensatory damages for lost wages.

Sept. 15
Nolan K. Berry Jr. v. SWVA Inc., a subsidiary of Steel of West Virginia Inc.
PA-Donald R. Jarrell; J-David M. Pancake
* Berry worked as a grip operator for SWVA when in August 2006, he allegedly sustained a work-related injury. Berry claims he wasn't allowed to return to work until he visited a doctor appointed by SWVA. This request was in violation of Barry's contractual rights, the suit claims. Berry is seeking compensatory damages.
