CHARLESTON — A former employee is suing Air Methods Corporation after she claims it failed to pay her final wages within 72 hours of discharging her.
Rebecca L. Hoffman was employed by the defendant from October 2010 until Oct. 14, according to a complaint filed Nov. 2 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Hoffman claims Air Methods failed to pay her final wages in full within 72 hours of discharge, which is in violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
The defendant’s actions and violations of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act entitles Hoffman to treble damages, according to the suit.
Hoffman is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James C. Stucky.
