CHARLES TOWN — The Bank of Charles Town is suing N/L Entertainment after it claims the company failed to prevent the theft of debit card and credit information of its customers at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in Winchester, Va.
In the early part of September, the defendant was negligent in failing to prevent the information from being stolen, according to a complaint filed Nov. 14 in Jefferson Circuit Court.
The bank claims at least 232 purchases were made using Bank of Charles Town customers’ debit cards.
As a result of the defendant’s negligence, the Bank of Charles Town has been damaged in the amount of $29,919.74 plus interest, according to the suit.
The bank is seeking judgment in the amount of $29,919.74 with pre- and post-judgment interest. It is being represented by Stephen G. Skinner.
