WINFIELD — A former employee says C.H. Robinson Company failed to pay her final wages in a timely manner after terminating her employment.
Jennifer S. Lane was employed by the defendant from August 2011 until Feb. 9, according to a complaint filed April 18 in Putnam Circuit Court.
Lane claims the defendant failed to pay her final wages within 72 hours of discharging her from her employment and she did not receive her final wages until Feb. 15.
The defendant’s failure to pay Lane’s final wages within 72 hours of discharge violates the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act, according to the suit.
Lane claims the defendant’s actions caused her damages.
Lane is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Todd S. Bailess and Joy B. Mega.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Phillip Stowers.
