Scrap worker says he suffered on-the-job injuries

Workerscomp

NEW CUMBERLAND -- A scrap worker is suing over injuries allegedly sustained during loading work.

Robert M. Quaigg filed suit May 30 in Hancock Circuit Court against Service Transport Group Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was working on a site loading scrap into a trailer owned by the defendants. While loading a scrap bundle with a tow motor the floor gave way, causing the tow motor to drop to the ground with the plaintiff, who sustained severe pain and injuries from the incident, the suit states.

The defendant is accused of failing to instruct Quaigg on loading the trailer and of not informing him of the trailer's deterioration.

Quaigg is seeking compensatory damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit.

He is represented by Wheeling attorney Donald J. Tennant Jr. of Tennant Law Offices. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David J. Sims.
