Grant Co. man files suit after injury at Pilgrim's Pride

Slipandfall

MOOREFIELD -- A Grant County man is suing over claims he was injured on the wet floor of a walk-in freezer.

Andrew Steinberg filed a lawsuit July 7 in Hardy Circuit Court against Pilgrim's Pride Corporation of West Virginia Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Steinberg was employed as a quality assurance technician by Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield on Jan. 13, when he slipped on the walk-in freezer's wet floor, which had frozen over, and fractured his elbow.

Steinberg says the injury required surgery for the placement of plates and screws, and the defendant is accused of negligence and deliberate intent in failing to provide a safe workplace.

Steinberg is seeking compensatory damages, fees and costs.

He is being represented in the case by attorney Truman C. Griffith of Warner Law Offices PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge H. Charles Carl.
