RIPLEY - Ginger Mullins, as parent and next friend to JPM, a minor, is suing Security Life Ins. Co. of America, in the Jackson County Circuit Court.

According to Mullins' complaint, filed on Dec. 3, her child was injured while playing basketball for Ripley High School in January 2012. Mullins says the injury should have been covered by a "group student blanket insurance policy" issued by Security which covered injuries sustained in interscholastic sports.

Mullins allegedly has not received any compensation for the injuries her child sustained and is now accusing Security of breach of contract, bad faith and unfair trade practices.

Mullins is seeking an undisclosed amount in compensatory and punitive damages. She is represented by attorney Brent K. Kesner
