NEW CUMBERLAND -- An Ohio woman is suing a car care center over claims it didn't repair her car as promised.

Linda Casey filed a lawsuit May 5 in Hancock Circuit Court against Lamonte "Jake" Spencer, doing business as Jake's Car Care Center, citing fraud.

Casey claims she was involved in an automobile accident on May 22, 2011, in her 1998 Pontiac Grand AM. The suit alleges the defendant agreed to repair the car for the amount appraised by the insurance company.

According to the brief, the repairs took longer than anticipated and upon further invesitagation the defendant claimed to have performed many repairs which he actually did not complete, resulting in Casey having the work redone by another body shop.

Casey is seeking damages in the amount of $4,701.95 and punitive damages to be determined by the court.

She is being represented in the case by attorney Amanda M. Mesler of Isla Mesler Law Offices PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
