Cabell man files suit after daughter injured in wreck

HUNTINGTON -- A Cabell County man is suing after his daughter was injured in a car accident, claiming negligence.

Jerry Meade, as parent and next friend of Elsa Meade, filed a lawsuit May 20 in Cabell Circuit Court against Michael B. McWhorter and Pike Electric LLC, citing negligence.

Jerry Meade claims his daughter, Elsa, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling west on Interstate 64 near Barboursville in Cabell County, when McWhorter crashed into the vehicle Elsa was riding in. According to the claim, McWhorter negligently and carelessly operated Pike Electric's truck, causing the accident, injuring Elsa's head, neck, back, body and limbs.

Jerry Meade is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit, interest and court costs.

He is being represented by Huntington attorney R. Matthew Vital of Vital and Vital LC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Christopher D. Chiles.
