PINEVILLE -- A Wyoming County man is suing a power company for negligence after an electric shock caused severe injuries.
Juan Pando filed a lawsuit March 21 in Wyoming Circuit Court against Appalachian Power Company, citing negligence.
Pando claims the defendant constructed and placed a pole and lines to provide electric power to Pando's address at 284 Herndon Village Road in Herndon. The suit alleges the defendants placed the pole and lines without adequate protection or warning to residents nearby, causing Pando to suffer electric shock when a ladder he was using came into contact with the line on July 25, 2012.
According to the brief, the electric shock caused voltage to pass through Pando's body and exit his left foot, resulting in the loss of three toes and partial loss of the left foot and medical expenses in the sum of $69,227.72.
Pando is seeking lost wages in the amount of $5,544, medical expenses in the amount of $69,227.72, special damages in the amount of $74,771.72, future lost earnings and any other relief the court deems just.
He is being represented in the case by Pineville attorney David G. Thompson. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Warren R. McGraw.
