MARTINSBURG - Martin & Seibert shareholder Geoffry Haddad acted as program moderator for the National Business Institute’s "As Judges See It: Top Mistakes Lawyers Make in Civil Litigation" roundtable event with panel members including the Honorable Richard A. Facemire and The Honorable John C. Yoder.
The well-attended, half-day seminar was held at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg and focused on how to impress judges and building your reputation with the court.
Roundtable topics included: Summary Judgment Hearings-What Information the Judge Needs to Make a Ruling; Case Scheduling and Keeping the Court Apprised of Case Updates; Motions Hearings; Your Briefs: What Judges Don’t Want to See and How to Get To the Point Quickly; Judges’ View Of Jury Selection and Communications; Unacceptable Litigation Tactics; and Witness and Evidence Management.
Haddad concentrates his practice on the areas of complex litigation, insurance and personal injury defense and is a frequent lecturer. This is the second event in which Mr. Haddad has been asked to participate in seminars presented by the National Business Institute.
