BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County woman is suing over claims her husband was fatally injured while working as a tree cutter.

Linda Treadway, individually and as administratrix of the estate of Michael Dale Cadle, filed a lawsuit July 15 in Raleigh Circuit Court against John's Tree Service and Landscaping Inc., John's Tree and Landscaping Inc. and John Doe Corporation, collectively doing business as John's Tree Service, and John Teague, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Cadle was cutting trees on Reservoir Road in Beckley while employed by John's Tree Service on July 18, 2012, when a tree fell on him and he was fatally injured. Treadway says Cadle died Aug. 16, 2012. The defendant company and its president, Teague, are accused of negligence in failing to use proper industry standards and regulations, which caused the tree Cadle was working on to roll and cause crushing injuries.

Cadle's wife, Treadway, is seeking Cadle's lost wages and benefits, medical and funeral expenses, attorney's fees and damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys Shawn R. Romano and Miles B. Berger of Romano and Associates PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside.
