Truck passenger sues Jack Rabbit Delivery

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County man is suing over claims he was severely injured in a collision.

Mark Sigmon filed a lawsuit Dec. 11, 2014, in Kanawha Circuit Court against Jack Rabbit Delivery Inc., Champion Industries Inc. and Capitol Business Equipment Inc., doing business as Capitol Business Interiors Inc.

According to the complaint, Sigmon was a passenger in a seat with an inoperable seat belt in a Champion- and Capitol-owned delivery truck driven by a coworker on Hillcrest Drive on Nov. 12, 2013, when the truck was struck by a Jack Rabbit delivery truck, and Sigmon sustained injuries. Sigmon says he has become a paraplegic and has incurred more than $500,000 in medical expenses.

Sigmon is represented by attorneys Robert V. Berthold Jr. and Matthew C. Berthold of Berthold Law Firm PLLC in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King Jr.
