BRIDGEPORT – Steptoe & Johnson attorney Sherri S. Whalen has been awarded the Kaufman Award for Pro Bono Service by the West Virginia State Bar.
Whalen received the award as the attorney who logged the most pro bono hours out of all attorneys in the state in 2014. Whalen worked more than 124 hours on behalf of individuals and organizations in need.

Whalen concentrates her legal practice in the areas of elder law, guardianship/conservatorship law, estate planning, and estate litigation. She is a former Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in abuse and neglect proceedings and served as Steptoe & Johnson’s pro bono coordinator for three years. She received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her Bachelor’s degree from Juniata College. Whalen is named among The Best Lawyers in America for 2015.
