WINFIELD – A Hurricane woman is suing another city resident for injuries she sustained when she was hit by a vehicle while walking along a road.
Rozilind Miller filed the lawsuit against Gordon C. Schronce on Jan. 3 in Putnam Circuit Court. In the suit, Miller says Schronce was careless and negligent when he hit her with his 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier along Route 19 in Hurricane on Sept. 10, 2005.
As a result of the incident, Miller says she suffered a concussion, loose teeth, injuries to her lower extremities and other traumatic injuries that are permanent and lasting in nature.
In the suit, filed by attorney Harvey D. Peyton, Miller says she has had medical, hospital and doctor expenses of more than $8,000 as a result of the accident and that she will have more such expenses in the future.
In addition, she says she has suffered past, present and future pain and suffering, loss of earnings, loss of capacity to work and earn money, loss of enjoyment of life, mental anguish, annoyance, aggravation and inconvenience.
She sues Schronce for damages, court costs and pre- and post-judgment interest.
Miller requests a jury trial, and the case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Ed Eagloski.
