CHARLESTON – A man seeks a judgment of up to $75,000 after slipping and falling at a Cross Lanes restaurant.
Delbert Lockhart filed a lawsuit in Kanawha Circuit Court against P.J.L. Enterprises Inc., doing business as Golden Corral.
In the suit, filed by Charleston attorney Larry O. Ford, Lockhart says he was visiting the restaurant on March 6, 2004, when he stepped on a foreign substance on the floor. Lockhart says he believes the substance was grease tracked from the restaurant's kitchen.
When he stepped on the substance, he fell to the floor and was injured. Those injuries include connective tissue injuries to the lower back and right hip, according to the suit.
Lockhart seeks a judgment in an amount to compensate him but not to exceed $75,000 plus interest and court costs.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tod Kaufman.
