Company sues another after accident

WHEELING - A company is suing another company after the defendant's truck driver struck the plaintiff's parked truck.

Werner Enterprises filed the suit this month in Ohio County.

In the suit, Werner Enterprises claims that one of its employees was legally parked at a truck stop when another truck driver working for U.S. Xpress struck his truck into the Werner employee's.

The plaintiff claims that the accident came after repeated warnings from the Werner employee and several other witnesses for the U.S. Xpress driver to stop. The plaintiff also claims that it was the defendant's negligence that caused the otherwise avoidable accident. Werner Enterprises is suing for damages in the amount of $7,317.84.

It seeks a trial by jury.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James P. Mazzone.
