Kanawha County Chief Magistrate Kim Aaron shows off her Mazda Miata. The picture was take before the convertible was vandalized last week in the Judicial Annex parking lot.CHARLESTON -- Kanawha County Chief Magistrate Kim Aaron's says she usually can find humor in just about anything.
But that isn't the case when it comes to the recent vandalism of her convertible.
On Aug. 9, someone used a knife to cut the canvas top of her Mazda Miata and scratched the paint with a key while it was parked in the Judicial Annex garage.
Aaron said fellow Magistrate Marva Crouch told her about it just after noon.
Deputies dusted Aaron's car for fingerprints, and courthouse security officials reviewed surveillance tapes from the garage. The matter still is under investigation by the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
"The car is currently being repaired at a cost of $1,636.67, of which I must pay a $500 comprehensive coverage deductible," said Aaron, wife of WCHS-TV reporter Bob Aaron. "It just makes me sick to my stomach."
