Man sues over assault on school bus seven years ago

CHARLESTON - A man blames the Kanawha County school board for an attack and sexual assault he endured in 2000.

Logan Sneed filed the case Feb. 7 -- his 20th birthday -- in Kanawha Circuit Court.

In the complaint, Sneed says he was attacked and sexually assaulted by students while riding a school bus on Oct. 3, 2000.

At the time of the attack, the board has a duty to supervise the students on the school buses and to provide a reasonably safe environment for its students, the suit says.

As a result of the negligence of the board, Sneed sustained injuries and damages and endured pain and suffering, emotional injury, annoyance and inconvenience and incurred medical expenses, all of which are permanent.

Sneed seeks judgment in a substantial sum, plus all costs and damages. He demands a trial by jury.

The case has been assigned to Judge Tod Kaufman.
