WINFIELD -- Powerball winner Jack Whittaker on Monday settled the wrongful death lawsuit on the third day of testimony in the trial.

Details of the settlement were not announced.

Whittaker and the estate of his late granddaughter Brandi Bragg had been sued by Jimmy Tribble and the estate of Jesse Tribble, his 18-year-old son who died of a drug overdose at Whittaker's Scott Depot home in 2004.

Jesse Tribble was at Whittaker's home with Bragg on Sept. 16, 2004. They had been using drugs that day. Tribble passed out, and died sometime around midnight, according to the state medical examiner's report. Whittaker was not at the Scott Depot home at the time, and no criminal charges ever were filed in the death.

Whittaker won the $315 million Powerball prize on Christmas 2002.
