Man blames construction company for injuries building worship center

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County man has sued a local construction company after he was injured while building a worship center.

Timothy Adkins filed his suit March 27 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Cole Construction after he was injured while working on the job site.

Adkins was injured while working on job for Cross Worship Center. He claims his injury was not protected by workers' compensation because Cole Construction did not provide the coverage when he was injured on March 22, 2005.

The suit says Adkins was injured while on a job that has a high risk of injury or death. He was exposed to the unsafe condition and suffered a serious injury. In a 16-count suit, Adkins claims the negligence of the defendants caused his injuries.

Also named in the suit are Rodney Cole; All Crane & Equipment Rental Corporation; Babcock Lumber Company; David Johnson; Bryant Krepps; Cross Worship Center; J.T. Construction LLC and unknown defendants.

Adkins, through his attorney Timothy Bradford, seeks compensation to cover his damages in an excess of the minimum jurisdictional requirement.

The case has been assigned to Judge Paul Zakaib.
