Hot dog restaurant sued after man slipped on floor

CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County man blames a hot dog restaurant after he slipped on a wet floor while walking through the establishment.

Roger Fleshman filed a suit against Brewer Management, doing business as Sam's Hotdogs in Malden. The suit was filed April 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Fleshman claims that on April 22, 2005, he was in the video game room of the restaurant when he went to the counter to get more money for the games. While walking back to the game room, he said he slipped and fell on water that was on the floor.

Fleshman claims he was permanently injured during the fall, which was the fault of the restaurant because the floor was wet.

According to the lawsuit, Fleshman has suffered medical expenses and loss of wages, along with various other expenses. He demands judgment in an amount to cover his expenses.

Attorney Ted M. Kanner is representing Fleshman. The case has been assigned to Judge Louis Bloom.
