MARTINSBURG - A home building company in Berkeley County that has been sued more than 30 times in the past eight months has been hit with another lawsuit.

The Potomack Group filed a lawsuit April 13 in Berkeley Circuit Court against American Homes by United Builders.

Between September 2006 and April 2007, American Homes and owner John Petry have been sued for millions of dollars.

The Potomack Group, a Virginia company, filed the suit, claiming American Homes has filed to pay for work done between Aug. 14 and Oct. 2, 2006. According to the lawsuit, the contract between the two companies states American Homes was to pay the Potomack Group $7,500 per week for services provided.

The suit states that American Homes owes Potomack more than $159,756 for unpaid bills, interests and court costs.

The Potomack Group, through attorney M. Dawn Alexander, seeks compensation for the work provided.
