Is Bobby Warner planning a political run?

Sprouse

By VIC SPROUSE

CHARLESTON -- No, not Monte.

No, not Kris.

No, not Kasey.

How about Bobby Warner?

While many of you may say "who?," the fact is Bobby Warner has extensively ramped up his law office commercials.

Yes, he has always had the magnets on the phone book, but he has now turned to TV.

And, not just normal lawyerly TV commercials.

His commercials have an air of political in them ... he and his sons hunting, he and his sons by the pond fishing, etc.

Of course, they are well done ... the absolute polar opposite of the idiotic Danny Cline commercials.

(A quick aside: Has anyone seen those absolutely stupid commercials of Danny where he is in a convertible driving above the background of the city of Charleston? Geez! Coming from Pennsylvania, I grew up on Edgar Snyder and Associates commercials. But, Danny makes Edgar's commercial look classy.)

Anyway, what made me think of it was his commercial on "Decision Makers."

First, not many people are tuning in to Decision Makers to find a lawyer.

But, Warner's commercial is all about third-party bad faith lawsuits and slams the Legislature for passing it.

It just struck me as an odd commercial.

I can't imagine you'd run your campaign based on slamming the Legislature for third-party bad faith lawsuits.

And, I can't imagine, if you were a trial lawyer you'd waste money on a mainly business-oriented talk show.

But, who knows, maybe he was just really pissed about the Legislature giving the Insurance Industry a break on third-party bad faith suits.

Either way, he'd be a tough candidate, especially with commercial after commercial running.

Sprouse has served in the Legislature since 1995 and resides in Charleston. He graduated from Penn State University with a Chemical Engineering degree and currently owns and operates several fitness centers in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
