Man sues for injuries from time with CSX

HUNTINGTON - A former employee of CSX Transportation has filed a suit against the company, claiming he has several injuries from his days on the job.

Allen B. Cook filed the suit May 7 in Cabell Circuit Court against CSX, for whom he worked as a laborer.

Cook claims he suffered cumulative trauma injuries, was exposed to toxic substances and excessive noise and vibrations. According to the suit, Cook suffered permanent disfigurement as well as upper body and head injuries. The suit says he also suffered injuries to his lower body, and all extremities.

According to the suit, Cook is unable to carry out his usual and normal activities of life for a long period of time, and his power and capacity for carrying out and engaging in his usual and normal activities.

Cook claims CSX is negligent for his injuries by failing to provide a safe working environment for its employees.

Cook seeks compensatory and punitive damages.

Attorney J. Roger Smith II is representing Cook. The case has been assigned to Judge John Cummings.
