MORGANTOWN - A Harrison County man has filed a suit against a local cardiology center, claiming he was improperly treated by a doctor employed by the center.
Edward S. Koreski filed a suit against David H. Church, M.D., and the Clarksburg Cardiology Consultant, Inc. Dr. Kevin J. Mace and the West Virginia University Board of Governors are also named as defendants.
Koreski and his wife, Connie, field the suit May 30, in Monongalia Circuit Court. Koreski claims Mace improperly treated him at the emergency room of United Hospital Center.
According to the suit, Koreski went to the emergency room with complaints of mid-sternal chest pain. While there, he claims Mace deviated from the standard of care by not sending him to have a heart catherization.
Koreski claims a heart cath would have revealed significant blockage in his left anterior descending artery.
The next day, Koreski became a patient of Church, who allegedly failed to act upon tests indicating ongoing heart damage.
According to the suit, Church also deviated from the standard of care.
In the two-count suit, Edward and Connie Koreski seek compensatory and punitive damages.
Attorney Jacques R. Williams is representing the Koreskis. The case has been assigned to Judge Clawges.
