WINFIELD -- Two Kanawha County residents are suing a storage facility claiming the company sold all their belongings without warning.
Lou and Robin Pryor filed a suit Aug. 13 in Putnam Circuit Court against A-1 Nitro Mini Storage. They say they rented three units to store personal belongings, a personal doll collection, certain business records, office furniture and business supplies valued at about $150,000.
When the Pryors say they fell behind on their payments, they claim the company threw away or sold their personal property without giving them notice and without authorization in the terms of a written agreement, according to the complaint.
Also, the Pryors claim Nitro Mini Storage did not file a lawsuit or any type of legal action for their failure to pay the rent.
The Pryors claim the company's action was negligent, intentional, reckless and done without any authority of law.
They are seeking $150,000 and any other relief.
The Pryors are represented by Hurricane attorney Herbert Hively.
