* A resident of Fayette County, Coleman employed the services of REM Community Options. There were to provide 24-hour care for her son who suffers from cerebral palsy and is predisposed to seizures. Kristen Atha, a shift worker with REM, took Rakes to her apartment where she left him unattended for an unspecified period of time. While unattended, Rakes fell and suffered severe injuries to his spinal cord. Coleman is seeking judgment against REM and Atha for costs, expenses, fees as well as punitive damages, and pre and post judgment interest.
