HUNTINGTON -— Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough is opening an office in Huntington on Dec. 1.
This is the second new city for the firm since January, and will be its first office in West Virginia. It is the East Coast firm's 12th location.
Joining the firm will be three well-known West Virginia attorneys, including Marc E. Williams, who just completed a term as president of the 23,000-member DRI, the international organization of corporations and attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. Nelson Mullins has three former DRI presidents on its roster of attorneys.
Joining him are partners Robert Massie and Melissa Foster Bird. The new attorneys all have extensive litigation practices. The offices of Nelson Mullins will be located at 949 Third Avenue, Suite 200.
"This new office is geographically a good fit for us because of our current work for clients in West Virginia," Nelson Mullins Managing Partner David Dukes said. "This new litigation team also is a perfect complement to our national litigation practice, and we are excited that they will be helping us open our 12th office."
Litigation is Nelson Mullins' largest practice area, representing 55 percent of the firm's total practice.
