CHARLESTON -- A man is suing the City of Charleston after he was involved in a vehicle accident.
On June 25, 2008, Christopher Dadisman was operating his vehicle on Lee Street and stopped at the intersection of Lee Street and Pennsylvania Avenue because of a red light, according to a complaint filed Dec. 9 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
Dadisman claims the lane he was in was permitted to turn left onto Pennsylvania Avenue.
According to the suit, while Dadisman was at the red light, William C. Jones approached the intersection in a vehicle owned by the City of Charleston and was in a lane that was only permitted to proceed straight ahead on Lee Street.
Dadisman claims when the light turned green, Jones attempted to turn left and in doing so, struck his vehicle. He claims Jones owed a duty to him and the general public to maintain control of his vehicle and to generally obey the laws and rules of the road.
As a result of the accident, Dadisman claims he has suffered lost wages; medical expenses; pain and suffering; physical limitations; diminished capacity to enjoy life; annoyance and inconvenience and other damages.
Dadisman is seeking compensatory damages. He is being represented by Robert D. Cline Jr., Robert A. Campbell and R. Chad Duffield of Farmer, Cline & Campbell.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
