Woman sues WVU Board of Governors, Delta Gamma chapter, sorority house for son's death

MORGANTOWN -- A woman is suing the WVU Board of Governors, its Delta Gamma Chapter and the Delta Gamma House Association after her son fell, was injured and later died.

On Jan. 1, 2008, John Paul Znoy II fell between WVU's Arnold Hall and the Delta Gamma Sorority building, according to a complaint filed Dec. 15 in Monongalia Circuit Court.

Znoy's mother, Jessie M. Jones, claims the defendants knew or show have known on the "unreasonably dangerous conditions and neither corrected nor warned" Znoy of them.

Jones claims her son suffered severe personal injuries, permanent bodily impairment, scarring and loss of earnings as a result of the fall, which later contributed to his death.

Jones is seeking compensatory damages for her son's wrongful death. John R. Angotti is representing her.
