HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington man is suing multiple companies in three separate lawsuits after he claims they violated the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act.
Jeremy Bailey claims Citibank South Dakota N.A., United Collection Bureau, JPMorgan Chase and Valentine & Kebartas all engaged in repeated violations of the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act by causing his phone to ring constantly, even after he was represented by an attorney and by publically disclosing private information to his family and friends, according to the three complaints filed Jan. 8 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Bailey claims he has suffered severe and intense emotional distress; has been annoyed, inconvenienced, harassed, aggravated and oppressed; and has suffered financially because of the defendants.
Bailey is seeking injunctive relief to prohibit the defendants from any further contact; actual damages for emotional distress, annoyance, inconvenience and harassment for violations of the West Virginia Consumer Protection Act; statutory damages for violations of the West Virginia Consumer Protection Act; adjustments of damages for inflation; to make his finance loans void; and punitive damages. He is being represented by Wesley Harrison White.
Two of Bailey's cases have been assigned to Circuit Judge David M. Pancake and one has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
