* The plaintiffs, a mother and her son, allege legal malpractice and professional negligence and breach of contract. They retained Howard's services to refinance her home so she could lend her son $150,000 to invest in a business. When they went to sign the final paperwork, they found they actually were purchasing one-third of the business instead of half. Howard failed to advise the Regesters when asked and later said he had a conflict of interest because he also was representing the seller of the business. They seek compensatory damages and other relief.

Ben J. Currier v. Richard W. Weese and Maria V. Weese

* Currier is demanding judgment against the Weeses for injuries sustained when he fell while walking on the sidewalk past their residence. According to the complaint, the defendant violated their responsibility to have the sidewalk clear of snow and ice following a winter storm. To date, Currier has incurred over $124,000 in medical expenses. He seeks compensatory damages
