WAYNE -- A woman is suing Pottery Barn after she claims they negligently packaged furniture.
On Feb. 24, 2007, JolaNette Froble purchased furniture at the Columbus, Ohio, Pottery Barn location and had it shipped to her home, according to a complaint filed March 23 in Wayne Circuit Court.
Froble claims when she unpacked the furniture, she discovered the foot board was missing and two sets of side rails were incorrectly shipped.
Upon discovery of the problem, Froble called the defendant's customer service and was "rudely told that nothing could be done about the bed," according to the suit.
Froble claims she hired an attorney, who was informed that the Sophie bed was discontinued and that she should have been informed about it.
The cost of having a comparable matching foot board made by a local contractor will cost approximately $500, according to the suit.
Froble is seeking compensatory damages and the replacement of the bed or return of the purchase price and costs. She is being represented by Michael E. Froble.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge James H. Young.
