Huddleston Bolen to offer seminar on health care reform law

CHARLESTON -- Huddleston Bolen will host a seminar describing the impact the 2010 Health Care Reform Law will have on businesses.

Titled "Need2Know: How the Health Care Reform Law will Impact Your Business," the free seminar will be held on June 9 in Charleston, W. Va. at the Chase Tower Conference Center, 707 Virginia St., East.

The session will begin with a complimentary breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and conclude by 9:30 a.m. Guests may register at www.huddlestonbolen.com/events or by contacting Tasha Viglianco at 304-344-9869, 304-691-8474, or tviglianco@huddlestonbolen.com. Seating is limited.

The seminar will feature Huddleston Bolen attorneys Luke Lafferre, Kevin Nelson and Michael Folio in a moderated cross-fire discussion of the positive and negative effects the new health care reforms will have on businesses.

With nearly two decades of experience representing clients in health care regulatory issues and litigation, Folio will frame and moderate the discussion.

"Working with health care providers over the years, I have gained an understanding of their underlying business needs. I plan to use this perspective to frame up what will be an informative and engaging conversation," Folio said.

Kevin Nelson, managing partner of the firm's Charleston office, will outline how employers can take advantage of the law to benefit their business. Nelson has over twenty years experience representing clients in employment law, benefits administration and compensation matters.

"New legislation always creates winners and losers. My goal is to point out how employers can use elements of the new law to their advantage," Nelson said.

Luke Lafferre will provide a cautionary tale, offering information about the new law that could negatively impact businesses and the economy. Lafferre is a partner and trial attorney in the firm's Huntington office. He has decades of experience representing Fortune 100 clients in the courtroom.

"It's important that businesses understand the threat this law poses to individual companies and the economy as a whole," Lafferre said.
