Woman sues over injuries at convenience store

CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County woman is suing OSI Limited Liability Company for injuries she sustained at an Exxon One Stop in in Charleston.

Darden Properties and Darden Properties II were also named as defendants in the suit.

On July 5, Janet Riley Green was at the Exxon One Stop when she slipped on a wet floor and landed on her back, resulting in injuries to her shoulder, back and hip, according to a complaint filed Sept. 23 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The defendants were responsible for properly maintaining the premises of the Exxon One Stop and failed to do so, according to the suit.

Green claims the defendants owned and controlled the store and were negligent and breached their duty of care and maintenance by "allowing the floor to exist in a dangerous condition."

As a result of the negligent conduct, Green sustained serious injuries, according to the suit.

Green is seeking compensatory damages. She is being represented by Paul M. Stroebel.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
