Putnam couple sues Ford, Midway Ford for defective truck

CHARLESTON -- A Putnam County couple is suing Ford Motor Company and Midway Ford after they claim the 2010 Ford F-350 truck they purchased was defective.

On June 11, Arnold and Amanda W. Taylor purchased the new vehicle, according to a complaint filed Oct. 21 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The Taylors claim after purchasing the vehicle, they discovered and experienced repeated non-conformities that substantially impaired the use, value and/or safety of the vehicle.

After a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacture did not conform the vehicle to the warranty, nor did Ford replace the vehicle with a comparable new vehicle, according to the suit.

The Taylors claim the defendants violated West Virginia Code.

The Taylors are seeking revocation of acceptance and refund of the purchase price of the vehicle, damages for repair costs and loss of use and punitive damages. They are being represented by Cameron S. McKinney.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
