PERSONNEL FILE: Moore elected member at Spilman

CHARLESTON -— The management team of the law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that Timothy R. Moore of the Winston-Salem office has been elected as member.

"Tim has become an integral part of Team Spilman," said Michael J. Basile, Spilman's Managing Member. "His attitude and work ethic perfectly exemplify the firm's commitment to delivering excellence and value to our clients."

Moore joined Spilman as Counsel in 2007 and has since proven to be a leader within the firm. He recently initiated the formation of Spilman's newest practice group, the Community Banking Group, which was formed from a diverse cross-section of the firm's corporate and litigation attorneys to serve the needs of community banks.

In addition to chairing the Community Banking Group, Moore leads Spilman's corporate practice in the Winston-Salem office and represents clients in matters related to banking and finance as well as bankruptcy and creditors' rights. He also practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and wealth management.

Moore was recognized as a "North Carolina Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine in 2010, and he was named a Triad "Mover & Shaker" by Business Leader Magazine in 2009. He is also an active member in his community, participating on various boards for Junior Achievement, The Winston-Salem Foundation, The Children's Home and United Way of Forsyth County.

Moore received his B.A. in History and German from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1997. He is the third attorney elected as Member in the Winston-Salem office.
