HUNTINGTON -– Huntington law firm Jenkins Fenstermaker recently announced the election of two associates -- Arnold Janicker and Gary Matthews -- to membership in the firm.

"Arnold and Gary both are outstanding attorneys who have worked hard to become members of our firm," Jenkins Fenstermaker CEO Steve Wellman said. "They each have very high ethical and professional standards, and we're proud to formally recognize their dedication to meeting those standards by having them join our firm as members."

Janicker has been an associate with Jenkins Fenstermaker since 2002. His practice concentration is in general civil litigation, including collections, bankruptcy, real property litigation, contracts, and insurance defense. He is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law, where he earned his juris doctorate, and a graduate of The American University, where he earned his bachelor's degree.

Janicker is admitted to the West Virginia State Bar, and admitted to practice law before the United States District Court, Southern District of West Virginia; United States District Court, Northern District of West Virginia; United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of West Virginia, United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of West Virginia; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the American and West Virginia Bar Associations, as well as the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia, a statewide organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel.

Matthews has been an associate with Jenkins Fenstermaker since 2002 as well. His practice concentration is in general civil litigation, including defending claims against workplace injuries, construction and design professional litigation, warranty law, and insurance defense. He is a graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, where he earned his juris doctorate, and a graduate of Marshall University, where he earned his bachelor's degree.

Matthews is admitted to the West Virginia State Bar, and admitted to practice law before the United States District Court, Southern District of West Virginia; and United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of West Virginia. He is a member of the American and West Virginia Bar Associations, as well as the Defense Trial Counsel of West Virginia.

Requisites for membership at Jenkins Fenstermaker include demonstrating the ability to consistently perform quality legal work, developing client relationships, tenure, and commitment to the practice of law. Successful candidates are also expected to possess superior professional and personal character and judgment, and demonstrate honesty, self-control, confidence, reliability and professional independence. They also must be highly regarded by their peers, and are encouraged to assume leadership roles in civic, religious, and charitable organizations.
