PERSONNEL FILE: Pollack appointed judge in Office of Tax Appeals

CHARLESTON -– Acting Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has appointed A.M. "Fenway" Pollack to serve as the Chief Administrative Law Judge for the West Virginia Office of Tax Appeals.

"I am very pleased Mr. Pollack has accepted the opportunity to lead the West Virginia Office of Tax Appeals," Tomblin said. "His vast knowledge of state tax law will serve the citizens of our state well as the Office of Tax Appeals is integral to maintaining a fair tax system in West Virginia."

Pollack's prior state government experience includes serving as Senior Counsel to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and as the Assistant Attorney General.

During his time in state government, Pollack has represented various state agencies and divisions, including the State Tax Department, before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, United States District Court, West Virginia Circuit Courts, the West Virginia Public Employees Grievance Board and the Workforce West Virginia Unemployment Compensation Board of Review.

Pollack is a 1998 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law and a 1984 graduate of State University of New York in Purchase, N.Y. Upon graduation from law school, Pollack worked was an attorney for Breckinridge, Davis & Sproles in Summersville. His areas of practice included Worker's Compensation, Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Estate Administration, Abuse and Neglect, Family Law and General Civil Litigation.

Pollack resides in Elkview with his wife and two children.
