CHARLESTON -- A couple is suing Chrysler Group for a defective vehicle they purchased.
On March 29, Brian and Stacie Bateman entered into a motor vehicle purchase contract with the defendant for a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to a complaint filed Oct. 25 in Kanawha Circuit Court.
The Batemans claim they returned the vehicle for repairs on at least four occasions and the vehicle was never repaired.
The defendant failed to remedy the defective conditions of the vehicle during the occasions it was with the defendant, according to the suit.
The Batemans claim the defendant failed and refused to provide a comparable replacement vehicle and to reimburse them.
The defendant's actions were willful, wanton and/or carried out with reckless disregard for the rights of the Batemans, according to the suit.
The Batemans are seeking compensatory and punitive damages. They are being represented by Cameron S. McKinney and David L. Grubb.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib Jr.
