PERSONNEL FILE: Davis joins Spilman's N.C. office

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -— The law firm Spilman Thomas & Battle has announced that education attorney Drew H. Davis has joined the firm's Winston-Salem office as Counsel.

Davis will practice as a general litigator with special emphasis on education, employment and commercial litigation. He will represent the firm's existing education clients and work to expand that practice throughout the firm. He devotes a large portion of his practice to the representation of public, private and charter schools, and education-related entities.

Before joining Spilman, Davis served as General Counsel to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education, one of the 90 largest public school systems in the U.S. In this position, he obtained experience in virtually every facet of education law.

Davis is active in the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) as a member of the Education, Litigation, and Labor and Employment sections. He also currently chairs the NCBA Education Section Legislative Committee.

Davis is also a member of the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys and the National Council of School Attorneys. He received his bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University and his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.
