* On Oct. 27, 2010, Harmon was at Wal-mart when she slipped on a clear hanger that was in the floor and twisted her left knee. Harmon is seeking compensatory damages.

Ricky Edward Jordan vs. First Presbyterian Church

* Jordan was employed by the defendant from Aug. 12, 2011, until June 18. Jordan claims over the course of several months he witnessed his head supervisor, Lee Richardson, removing items from the Covenant House store room, taking them to his vehicle and concealing them with a blanket. Several employees warned him not to report the theft, but in December 2011 he reported the theft to Claude Churchwell. On June 18 he was permanently suspended from his employment. Jordan is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

* On Sept. 13, 2010, Brown was driving on Brounland Road in Kanawha County when he encountered a deer and in doing so, the front right wheel of his vehicle went slightly off the paved surface and onto the shoulder area of the road. Brown claims as he avoided the deer, the front of his F-350 pickup truck struck a utility pole placed by Frontier along the side of Brounland Road within the shoulder area of the road and damaged the vehicle. The supplemental restraining system and air bags on the vehicle did not deploy. Brown is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.

* On Feb. 16, 2011, Cluther Ray presented to the Emergency Department of Thomas Memorial Hospital after leaving work, with complaints of abdominal pain and upper gastric pain. Julie Ray claims it was later discovered he suffered a heart attack and he had emergency heart surgery. Julie Ray claims Cluther Ray lived until May 4, 2011, never leaving the hospital, suffering from heart failure due to the delay in diagnosing and treating his heart attack. Julie Ray is seeking compensatory and punitive damages with pre- and post-judgment interest.
