HUNTINGTON – A Parkersburg woman is suing Super 8, alleging she was injured when she slipped on the floor and fell.
Interstate Lodging, Inc., is doing business as Super 8.
On May 5, Kimberly R. Constantino was exiting the lobby restroom of the Super 8 when she slipped and fell on the recently mopped floor and was injured, according to a complaint filed Dec. 18 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Constantino claims the defendant negligently and carelessly failed to maintain a safe non-slip floor way, causing her severe and debilitating injury.
Super 8 negligently and carelessly failed to provide proper warning to Constantino of the conditions of the floor, according to the suit.
Constantino claims the defendant failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition; failed to install appropriate warnings to ensure the safety of the premises; failed to exercise due care in maintenance and inspection; failed to adequately train personnel in the appropriate methods to inspect and maintain the premises; failed to warn of hazards of which the defendant knew or should have had knowledge of; and failed to exercise due care.
As a result of Super 8’s negligence and carelessness, Constantino suffered bodily injury requiring medical treatment and related expenses; physical pain and suffering; mental anguish; emotional distress; a diminution in the ability to enjoy life; and general damages, according to the suit.
Constantino is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Debra A. Nelson.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
