RIPLEY - A Ravenswood woman is suing over claims she fell on a hazardous sidewalk.

Jackson County resident Marian Tucker filed a lawsuit on July 16 in the Circuit Court of Jackson County against the City of Ravenswood, alleging negligence.

Tucker says she was walking on the city's sidewalk along Washington Street on April 25, 2012, when she was tripped by a fixed metal object protruding from the sidewalk surface. She claims this fall caused her to suffer injuries as well as more than $37,000 in medical expenses.

Tucker is seeking an undetermined amount of damages.
