HUNTINGTON - Huddleston Bolen recently welcomed two new lawyers to the firm. Lauren Hutchins joined the firm’s Litigation Department and Byron Collier joined the firm’s Business Law Department.

Tom Gilpin, chair of Huddleston Bolen’s Management Committee, welcomed the new lawyers, saying, “We are very pleased with the quality and diversity of lawyers our firm continues to attract. Hutchins is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department where represents transportation companies, retailers, and other industrial companies in matters such as premises liability, personal injury, and employment law.

Hutchins received her J.D. from the West Virginia College of Law in 2013, where she was a W.E.B. DuBois Fellow. While in law school, she served as treasurer of the Women’s Leadership Council and Academic Chair for the West Virginia University Chapter of the Black Law Students Association.

She holds a dual degree in Psychology from Marshall University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and the University of Debrecen, in Debrecen, Hungary. While at Marshall, Hutchins studied at the University of Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain, and Oxford University in Oxford, England. She was also a member of the Society of Yeager Scholars. During her work at the University of Debrecen, she also studied at the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During law school Hutchins served as a Summer Clerk at Huddleston Bolen and worked in the Legal Division of the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

Collier is an associate in the firm’s Business Law Department where he represents clients in estate planning, commercial real estate, healthcare, and banking matters.

Collier received his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2013. In law school he received Cali awards in Federal Income Taxation, Estate Planning, and Appellate Advocacy. He also received the “Thomas N. Chambers award in taxation” from the West Virginia Tax Institute. In 2009, Collier received a B.B.A., graduating Summa Cum Laude, in Finance and Economics from Marshall University.

During law school, Collier served as a Summer Clerk at Huddleston Bolen LLP. Prior to Law School, Collier served as a Legislative Liaison for the West Virginia Secretary of State, Natalie Tennant; participated in the College FED Challenge; and was an Intern in the office of U.S. Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV.
