PERSONNEL FILE: Robinson & McElwee welcomes two attorneys

CHARLESTON – Two attorneys recently have joined Robinson & McElwee PLLC and have been admitted to the West Virginia Bar.

John Langley and Thomas Olik have joined the firm’s Charleston office. They will be sworn in at the Supreme Court of Appeals on Oct. 14.

Langley graduated from Washington and Lee University’s School of Law in 2015, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a Minor in English Literature, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. During his time at Washington and Lee, Langley was a member of the Washington and Lee Constitutional Review Committee, which drafts and proposes amendments to the Student Body Constitution.

Langley joins the firm after spending the summer of 2013 with Robinson & McElwee as a Summer Associate. At Robinson & McElwee, Langley will be generally practicing within the business and corporate department where he will have an emphasis on real estate, as well as litigation.

Olik also graduated from Washington and Lee University’s School of Law in 2015, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from St. Johns University, in Queens, New York. While at St. John’s, Olik was honoured with the Blessed Frederic Ozanam Award for Facilitating Personal Development.

Olik returns to Robinson & McElwee after spending the summer of 2013 with the firm as a Summer Associate. Previously, he has worked in the Office of Regional Counsel in the Department of Veterans Affairs in Roanoke, and he has worked as a Community Liasion for New York City Council Member James F. Gennaro. At Robinson & McElwee, Olik will be focusing his practice on corporate law.

Robinson & McElwee’s practice is multifaceted and includes corporate law, environmental law, litigation, natural resources law, labor and employment law, utility law, bankruptcy, commercial real estate development, state and local taxation, estate planning and administration, commercial transactions and government relations.
