Man alleges Golden Gate nursing home to blame for relative's death

Oldwoman

CHARLESTON – A man is suing a nursing home following the alleged negligence of the staff, which resulted in the injury -- and ultimate death -- of his elderly relative.

Daniel Isaac Anderson filed a complaint on Dec. 2 in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Golden Gate National Senior Care, alleging negligence.

Anderson's family member, Mary Sue Anderson, was a resident at the senior care facility. During her time at the facility, it was the responsibility of the staff to care for and provide assistance to the residents by protecting them from harm, aiding them in day-to-day activities and promoting the maintenance of the patients' health. On multiple occasions, the defendant allegedly did not give care needed and failed to protect the patient from the attack of another resident. Mary Sue Anderson allegedly was caused pain and suffering due to the negligence of the senior care center, which ultimately resulted in her death.

Anderson is seeking compensation for all losses suffered and the legal fees incurred. He is represented by Ryan J. Duty of Wilkes and McHugh PA in Pittsburgh.
