Nicholas County man alleges negligence for on-job injury

WEBSTER SPRINGS – A Nicholas County man is suing a Webster County wood products company over injuries he alleges he sustained while working for the company.

Branden Mathes filed a lawsuit Dec. 17 in Webster Circuit Court against Allegheny Wood Products, alleging negligence.

Mathes was an employee of Allegheny Wood Products in Cowen, the suit states.

On Dec. 17, 2013, during the course of performing his job duties, Mathes allegedly injured his hand while operating a pulley. The suit states the defendant was negligent in providing training and supervision, resulting in Mathes' alleged injuries.

Mathes seeks attorney fees, relief as the court deems proper and court costs. He is represented by attorney Paul Williams in Summersville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Jack Alsop.
